Travel Tip: Lodge of Four Seasons!

The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri is a massive man-made body of water that features some of the most beautiful and relaxing attractions in this part of the broader prairie region. Some of my personal favorite activities can be enjoyed right along the Bagnell Dam strip, including helicopter tours (see my adventure high above the lake here) and dinner cruises (check out my peaceful ride across the waves here). This lake and its tourist spots are certainly worth exploring, either alone or with friends and family! When visiting the lake, however, there’s simply no better place to stay than the Lodge of Four Seasons!

First built in 1964, the Lodge of Four Seasons is a resort hotel positioned right on the lake, with boat docks visible right from the front entrance!

The unassuming front doors open to a grand lobby from which one can access many of the rooms (350 in total!), restaurants, and other activities the lodge offers.

There’s even a pro shop for those who want to enjoy the spectacular 36-hole championship golf course located on the property!

The Lodge of Four Seasons is massive, with seemingly endless divisions of rooms across several buildings.

Exploring the main building, I was taken by the awesome views and wonderful food at HK’s Lounge (where I had some of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted!),

and was also surprised to find a good ol’ fashioned arcade just waiting for friends to come and enjoy themselves after a day out on the lake!

Other incredible opportunities include the in-house movie theater,

the reception hall for large events,

and the yoga room where regular classes are conducted for those who wish to relax and rejuvenate alongside breathtaking views of Lake Ozark!

While exploring the Lodge of Four Seasons, you’re likely to be amazed as I was by the frequent splashes of color and decoration, often featuring running water and the most wonderful scents filling the air! Below is one such display I discovered positioned between ramps leading to yet another wing of rooms from the main building:

Of course, the most relaxing and attractive spot to be found in the main building is the heated pool house, a place you’ll never want to leave!

The rooms at the Lodge of Four Seasons are just as amazing as the attractions, as you’re sure to discover for yourself. My room was in a separate building, a bright and airy structure with convenient parking and swift elevators.

The singing birds in the rafters added a perfect touch to the overall fresh and rejuvenating feel of the place!

Although my building was atop a hill just around the corner from the main building, I was thankful for the courteous and attentive shuttle which was always available to bring me to and from anywhere I needed to get on the property!

Now, I’ve stayed in some pretty nice places around the world, but I simply can not say enough about the opulence of the rooms at the Lodge of Four Seasons.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and clean, and the room was perfectly air conditioned when I arrived. My suite continued into other rooms, including a kitchen and living room, as well as an incredible bathroom featuring a tub and luxury shower, and even a TV on the ceiling for enjoying while taking a soak!

I love rooms with fireplaces!

This one was the nicest I’ve enjoyed since my time in Ukiah, California! And of course, the balcony view was superb (any direction is beautiful when you’re at Lake Ozark!).

Now, back by the main building the wonderful attractions continue outside as well, including the serene and lovely Japanese Garden:

The garden was filled with little koi ponds and the scent of blossoming honeysuckles, which only added to the beauty. Just beyond the garden lies the incredible outdoor pool and one of the Lodge of Four Season’s many restaurants, Fire and Ice:

I enjoyed a delicious cool drink poolside before exploring some more. Off to the side I found another, smaller pool, this one reserved for quiet, adult swim.

What a nice concept! The patio grounds also include a massive chess board

and plenty of scenic seating for conversation or simple relaxation:

And the fun doesn’t have to end at sundown, as the Lodge lights fires in the gardens for evening enjoyment as well!

If you go, the Lodge of Four Seasons is located at 315 Four Seasons Drive in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Call them at 855-779-5870, or visit 4seasonsresort.com for more details. Tell them that you read all about their resort right here on Prairie, Party of One!

Lake Ozark’s Lodge of Four Seasons is the perfect place to stay while enjoying all the the lake and Bagnell Dam has to offer. I highly recommend visiting during the warmer months, but for the best prices and least number of tourists, the month of May just before Memorial Day is most ideal.

Thank you for a chance to see this beautiful place. It’s a welcomed break as most of us are experiencing a very cold and snowy winter.

  2. Sounds like a wonderful place to stay! I’ve never heard of or visited a hotel with its own yoga room before!

  3. Sounds like the perfect getaway that we are looking for! Great photography spot. I am looking forward to the fireplace!

  4. It truly is a wonderful place! I sat on the balcony with a cup of coffee one early morning, watching the romance between the fog bank and the lake…. eventually the fog lifted and thinned, allowing glorious sun to shimmer off the lake… beautiful!
